Join us on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day for an Instameet/Clean Up in Big Ditch Park. Don’t know what an “Instameet” is? An Instameet is a bunch of people getting together in a designated location to take photos for Instagram. Don’t have an Instagram account or a camera? That’s ok! Our main goal is to pick up trash and have fun! We’ll be walking next to the Big Ditch and the surrounding trails to clean up and beautify the park and to get some great photos. Don’t forget- you can take some awesome photos with your smart phone, too!

All are welcome, but parents please use your discretion. Some areas of the park have rough, uneven and slippery terrain, not to mention water, which is very low at this time, but children should be supervised at all times.

Participants may want to wear gloves. We will have a few “trash-grabbers” and trash bags availqable, but feel free to bring your own.

Weather permitting we will begin promptly at 1pm at Kelly Street and The Big Ditch. There is parking at the Murray Ryan Visitor Center and on Main Street Plaza between 7th and 8th Streets adjacent to Big Ditch Park.

Be sure to follow Silver City on Instagram to see photos from the event – @VisitSilverCity and use the hashtags #VisitSilverCity #SilverCityNM and #ShootTheDitch to share your photos of the Big Ditch with us.
